Making the Most of Instagram

Instagram is a great tool for a lot of reasons, although it can be a bit overwhelming and difficult to navigate if you’re just getting started on the platform, or if you need it to help drive sales and/or establish credibility. Here are a few tips we recommend to get the most out of the platform.

Making The Most Of Instagram

As a general rule of thumb, Instagram recommends that its creators post at least one “type” of content per week to help increase their visibility on the site. These “types” of posts include:

  • Reels

  • Wall Posts (Single Image)

  • Carousel Posts (Multiple Images)

  • Stories (Multiple throughout the day)

  • Reels

  • Instagram Live

Instagram stories were originally designed for content that happened within the last 24 hours. More recently, it’s acceptable if you post content within 48 hours from when it happened (and that keeps you present!). Here are a few ideas for story posts:

  • Share Other Users Content & Tag Them

  • Post Quotes

  • Ask Questions or Polls

  • Photos of Your Workflow or Daily Process

  • Link to Your Website or Blog

  • Funnels for Events

  • Product Sales

It’s also important to have a handful of helpful “Story Highlights” visible. This not only provides valuable information about your business or offering, but it also presents yourself in a more professional manner. It’s good to use a consistent color scheme and pre-determined categorization when setting this up. And please don’t worry if they’re perfect from the start, as you post more, you will add more highlights to your page.

Lastly, you will want to “pin” the three posts on your wall that tell the greatest story about yourself or your brand! Think of this as the headline on your resume. This is where you have an opportunity to shine!
